True. The ironic thing with the series is that just about all of kenshin's opponents know hand-to-hand combat (Aoshi, Saito, Enishi, Shishio, even Kaoru), except Kenshin himself, which kisses goodbye any of that kind of fighting.

I did. Sano's fights with Byako and Inui still looked a lot like just all out brawling. Any skill is always on the opponent's side. Sano's just got a lot of experience with street brawling but no training or technique, save for the Futae no Kiwami.

not sure if u ever read the manga, but in the enishi arc, which was never animated, the fight sequences r more intelligent, i thought anyways. There's more hand-to-hand and more actual skill involved instead of just fist throwing.

Wish Watsuki had had the guts to do the Okina vs Saizuchi fight! There's no good martial arts duels in RK. The only hand to hand fights are just mindless brawling. Probably because Sano's the main fist fighter.
